The Spanish Association of Rural Tourism (Asetur) has made public the opening of the deadline to submit applications for the Rural Destination Award of Spain 2027. Municipalities and regions wishing to apply for this distinction may register until October 31, as detailed in a statement.
The recognition is aimed at valuing the exemplary work in the promotion and consolidation of rural tourism in a specific locality or area, promoting the preservation of cultural and natural heritage, as well as the sustainability and authenticity of tourism proposals.
Those interested can consult all the information related to the rules, the application submission system, and the selection criteria on the official website of the award or by requesting it through the designated email.
Once the proposal submission period has ended, the jury will analyze the applications between November 1 and 10. The decision will be announced on November 13, within the framework of the Interior Tourism Fair (Intur), which is held in Valladolid.
Subsequently, the institutional presentation of the Rural Destination of Spain 2027 will take place at Fitur 2027, scheduled from January 20 to 24 of next year.
The municipality or region that is chosen will succeed the winner of the 2026 edition, the locality of Letur (Albacete), which continues to promote a broad program of commemorative activities linked to the award.
