The CEO of Deoleo, Cristóbal Valdés, has pointed out that the company owner of Hojiblanca and Carbonell, currently in the process of sale, faces the coming years with "great satisfaction".

"We are in a situation of global leadership after having successfully transformed the business, where the value of our brands has been protected. Today the reality is that we look to the future with great satisfaction," Valdés assured during his participation in the "VI Retail and Mass Consumption Forum" of "El Economista".

The British investment funds CVC Capital Partners and Alchemy, which control 50.9% and 40.3% of the Spanish multinational, confirmed a few months ago that they were studying various strategic alternatives for their participation, among which included the "possible sale" of all or "part of its assets and businesses" of Deoleo, an operation in which Coricelli and the Spanish companies Dcoop and Acesur compete.

The executive has emphasized that in recent years the multinational has managed to "focus on the main markets with the greatest potential, also pay attention to brands like Bertolli, Carbonell or Carapelli, which are global and leaders, as well as involve the teams much more in the purchasing decision processes and make an important journey of collaboration with the entire chain in terms of efficiency and innovation".

Valdés has highlighted that in the first half of the year the company has increased its unit margin by more than 25% and has reached 33 million euros of Ebitda, 52% higher than the previous year. "We are talking about financial solidity and future, because we are a company that today has a level of indebtedness of 1.4 times Ebitda. We continue to be the global leader, growing in geographies with many projects and we are very satisfied," he indicated.

The CEO of the multinational owner of Hojiblanca and Carbonell has insisted that olive oil is "one of the fundamental pillars of the agro-industry in Spain", defending the commitment to product excellence. "We conduct a thousand quality tests a year, there is no company in the world of oil and of this category that reaches that level," he emphasized.
