La Moraleja (Alcobendas, Madrid) returned in 2024 as the neighborhood with the highest income in Spain, with an average per declarant in the IRPF of 235,556 euros gross. On the opposite side of the table is Torreblanca (Sevilla), which repeats as the area with the lowest income, with an average of 11,560 euros.
These data come from the statistics of declarants of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF) and from the largest municipalities by postal code corresponding to the 2024 fiscal year, prepared and disseminated this Thursday by the Tax Agency.
In detail, La Moraleja, a neighborhood in the Madrid municipality of Alcobendas, consolidates once again its position as the area with the highest gross income in the country, with an average of 235,556 euros, which represents a 20% increase compared to the previous year (2023).

Torreblanca (Sevilla), the neighborhood with the lowest average gross income
On the opposite end, the neighborhoods with the lowest average gross income in Spain in 2024 are led by Torreblanca (Sevilla), with 11,560 euros, a figure slightly above the 11,354 euros recorded in 2023.
With average gross incomes below 20,000 euros, the following are Nou Alacant (Alicante), with 17,506 euros; Cortijos de Marín (Roquetas de Mar, Almería), with 17,632 euros; Carrús-Plaza Barcelona (Elche), with 18,207 euros; Sector Sur-Polígono Del Guadalquivir (Córdoba), with 19,711 euros, and Ciudad Jardín (Alicante), with 19,813 euros.
The Tax Agency has selected the municipalities included in this statistic based on three possible criteria, of which at least one must be met: population size (more than 200,000 inhabitants according to the census), fiscal dimension (more than 100,000 income tax returns in the analyzed year), and total gross income (an aggregated gross income exceeding 2.2 billion euros). In most municipalities, all three requirements are simultaneously met, although in some cases only one of them is verified.
