Renfe maintains that it has fulfilled all the commitments outlined in the agreement reached on February 9 to strengthen the railway network after the Adamuz accident, an agreement that allowed the planned strike days for February 10 and 11 to be canceled.

With this argument, the company responds in a statement to the new strike call announced by the Spanish Union of Train Drivers and Railway Assistants (Semaf) for October 29, emphasizing that the actions that directly corresponded to the company have been fully executed, while a significant part of the union demands lies outside its competencies.

The public operator indicates that the monitoring carried out by the various involved administrations confirms that the measures assumed by Renfe have been implemented and that, of the 24 remaining actions that do not depend on the company, 17 have already been realized and progress is being made on the 7 pending through the administrative, regulatory, and technical channels provided, without specific deadlines being set in the agreement.

In the employment area, the company emphasizes that it has fulfilled the commitment to activate an additional hiring rate of up to 1,200 professionals to strengthen operations, raise safety standards, and ensure staffing coverage, once the mobility processes prior to the Public Employment Offers (OPE) have been completed. At the same time, it rejects that the agreement regarding the incorporation of new train drivers has been violated and states that no newly hired worker is in an internship situation.

Regarding maintenance, Renfe explains that it has met the commitments made by internally assuming certain tasks, reinforcing maintenance with its own personnel, and increasing the workload at several bases. It also adds that it has designed and implemented since March a specific procedure for weather alerts, the effectiveness of which was recognized by Semaf.

Finally, the company expresses its regret over the strike call due to the possible repercussions for travelers, despite considering that it has fulfilled its obligations and the collective agreement signed in July. It also maintains that the 1990 agreement on attention in accidents is no longer valid as it understands that it was repealed in the X Collective Agreement of the former Renfe.
