The fifth edition of Agrifood International Congress has focused the debate on the key challenges that the agri-food value chain must face, according to what Port de Tarragona reported this Friday.
The meeting has brought together more than 120 participants from all links of the sector, who have addressed issues such as the loss of competitiveness, the optimization of logistical flows, and the detection of new business avenues.
"Agrifood has highlighted the adaptability and agility of the sector to find answers in the new global scenarios. Overregulation, bottlenecks, and international tensions have been identified as the three main elements that generate disruption to the entire sector," the organization reports.
In this context of high volatility, the experts who have participated in the congress have emphasized the sector's ability to adapt quickly and explore alternatives that allow responding to the new scenarios.
Among the most relevant challenges for this value chain, Agrifood has highlighted the loss of competitiveness linked to regulation considered excessive, the convenience of promoting new business opportunities related to emerging energies and the development of rural areas, as well as the need to refine logistical flows to move towards more efficient and sustainable models.
