The disbursement made by international tourists in Brazil until the month of July amounted to 6.543 billion dollars (5.620 billion euros), which represents a year-on-year increase of 9.4% compared to the 5.977 billion dollars (5.134 billion euros) recorded a year earlier.

According to the figures released by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB), only in July travelers from abroad injected 899 million dollars (772.2 million euros) into the largest economy in Latin America.

The increase in these revenues is related to the greater flow of visitors, as in the total up to July the country received nearly six million tourists, which represents a rebound of 12%.

Airports consolidated themselves as the main entry point for these travelers, concentrating 68% of the total entries. In the month of July, the percentage of international tourists who accessed Brazil by air was above 77%.

"The 6.5 billion dollars mobilized in the first seven months show the dimension of this chain and, with the diversification in the promotion of destinations, international tourism contributes to the circulation of resources in different activities and in various regions of the country," said the president of the Brazilian Agency for International Promotion of Tourism (Embratur), Bruno Reis.
