The Minister of Economy, Finance and Innovation, Antoni Costa, has reproached MÉS per Mallorca for its "genuflection" before the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and has predicted that, after the next general elections, they will continue to be "insignificant" in Congress, where they currently have a single deputy integrated into the Sumar coalition.
Costa expressed himself this way during the plenary session of the Parliament this Tuesday, in response to a question from the ecosovereignist deputy Maria Ramon, who had questioned him about the aid that, in her opinion, could have been promoted to support citizens in "making ends meet."
"I find that question bold when at the same time, where they govern, through Sumar-MÉS, which should be called 'Sumar-Menys', they have ignored the demands of the Govern to act urgently to reduce the tax burden on families, young people, and middle and low incomes in the Balearic Islands," Costa replied.
The also first vice president of the Govern lamented that the "genuflection" of MÉS before Sánchez, "similar to that of the PSIB," has prevented, according to him, specific measures from being demanded from the central government to address the inflation scenario resulting from the war in the Middle East.
"Measures that could have a direct impact on family economy, but that they have decided to ignore. It could be easier to make ends meet, but they have decided, with their null influence, that the situation be this," he pointed out.
Costa insisted that MÉS per Mallorca is "insignificant" in the Congress of Deputies and predicted that it "will continue to be so for many years."
