The United States Geological Survey reported this Friday a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.6 in the central-southern area of Panama, which has been accompanied by a warning for a possible tsunami. For the moment, there is no data on victims or potential material damages.
The tremor was detected at 19:56 this Friday (peninsular time in Spain and the Balearic Islands), with the epicenter located 14 kilometers southwest of Pitaloza Arriba and a hypocenter located 10 kilometers deep.
The United States Tsunami Warning Center has issued the corresponding warning a few minutes after the earthquake.
