The Coalition of Volunteers, the group formed by around thirty countries that support Ukraine in its long-term defense against Russian aggression, will hold a meeting next Monday in Kiev, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the country's independence from the former Soviet Union.
This meeting is part of a series of meetings that these allies of Kiev have been holding in recent months to coordinate military and diplomatic support for Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in the fifth year of war following Russia's invasion. It will be the third occasion that the coalition gathers in the Ukrainian capital.
The meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers will be jointly organized by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, and will include the participation of the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Among the thirty nations convened will also be the President of the European Council, António Costa, as well as NATO's "number two," Radmila Shekerinska, who will intervene via videoconference, according to the Atlantic Alliance.
