The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has accused the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, of "treason" for his attitude towards the massive entry of immigrants in Ceuta. The statement from the leader of the conservative party occurred during the first reply to the head of the Executive after his intervention before the Plenary of Congress.
The president of Vox began his intervention in the Plenary of Congress with a direct accusation against Pedro Sánchez for his management of the Ceuta crisis. "Treason. There is no other word. He has betrayed Spain, the people of Ceuta, the police, and his voters", he stated from the podium. He then warned that this is the only crime for which there is no possibility of pardon.

Abascal has gone a step further by considering that the massive entry of migrants was not only an "invasion," but also an "attack". To support his argument, he recalled the words spoken by Sánchez himself at the beginning of the crisis, when he spoke of an "attack and a violation of territorial integrity" during his visit to Ceuta a few hours after the massive entry.
"Who attacked us? Who attacked us, Mr. Sánchez?", he repeatedly asked the president. "I seriously ask you who did it, who is the attacker, because it is impossible to defend Ceuta or the people of Ceuta if we do not know who is attacking us", Abascal added.
The Vox leader has thus focused much of his reproaches on the Government's response to Morocco and has accused Sánchez of not directly pointing to Rabat as responsible for what happened. "We already know to which crown you pay homage", he shot back. In this sense, Abascal also reproached the president of the Government for his statements about the absence of a visit from King Felipe VI to Ceuta and has asked Congress to condemn Sánchez's actions during the crisis.
