The deputy spokesperson of the PP in Congress, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, has lashed out at the "decomposition" and "indecency" that, in her opinion, embodies the PSOE, which she has described as a "dead" party that needs to open a process of "deep internal reflection." At the same time, she has claimed the future of pensions, the correct economic management of public resources, national sovereignty, equality among Spaniards, judicial independence, respect for institutions, and the need for democratic regeneration.
This is how she has expressed herself to the media during her participation this Saturday in an event of the Popular Party in Palencia, where she has assured that the Socialist Party is "doomed to a choice on November 30: refoundation or extinction."
Álvarez de Toledo, who has avoided clarifying whether she will ultimately be number two on the PP list for Congress in Madrid, has intervened in a pre-campaign event in Palencia where she has conversed with the president of the Palencia PP, Ángeles Armisén, and has responded to questions raised by the militants.
The PP deputy has emphasized that the PSOE will have to face a process similar to the one led by Felipe González in the 70s with the Congress of Suresnes.
"Felipe González breaks with Marxism to try to turn the Socialist Party into a force with a vocation for hegemony, which he achieves. A green shoot of socialists that is somewhere and survives this Sánchez era will one day have to resurge and make a kind of Suresnes two and break with 'civil warism,' with separatism, and with indecency," she elaborated.
During her speech, Álvarez de Toledo also expressed her support for the PP candidate for the Mayor of Palencia, Víctor Torres, called for broad participation in the event on November 29, and intensified her criticisms against the Socialist Party and against Pedro Sánchez, whom she has accused of leading "a government turned into a mafia."
In that line, she has emphasized that the decision on November 29 transcends the mere choice between acronyms, since, in her words, "it is a choice between decency and delinquency."
Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo has once again focused on the defense of the public pension system, on the responsible management of public resources, on the preservation of national sovereignty, on the equality of all Spaniards, on the autonomy of judges, and on institutional respect. In addition, she has demanded a democratic regeneration in the face of an electoral campaign that, she has denounced, the Socialist Party would be promoting from "fraud, fear, and hate," she concluded.
