The PP has attacked the "inconsistency" of the PSOE spokesperson, Montse Mínguez, after the existence of the "30 apartments" owned by her partner became public, and has urged her to maintain a "serious and in-depth" debate on housing policies. At the same time, the party has disseminated a short video on its social media in which it labels the socialists as "hypocrites."
The 'popular' have relied on the information disseminated by "Artículo 14," which claims that Mínguez's partner controls a holding valued at several million euros in real estate and that he would have executed evictions of tenants. This is in addition to what was published by "El Español," which points to the existence of two companies in Panama, in addition to the 30 apartments located in Spain.
This Tuesday, during an interview on "Antena 3" in which she was questioned about this information, Mínguez stated that "personal attacks are the worst thing in politics" and defended that it is "a family business that is dedicated to renting and complies with the law," including the housing law "that is being applied in Catalonia."
Reactions in the PP and exchange of messages on social media
After the message that Mínguez herself published on October 5 on "X" with the slogan: "Vote with V for housing," the spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Ester Muñoz, responded: "With V for housing and with B for vultures."
"What a nest of scavengers they had set up. They knew what they were talking about, they had experience. The usual left: do what I say," Muñoz stated. In turn, the deputy spokesperson for the PP in Congress, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, emphasized that Mínguez's partner's company is called "Nest Capital" and pointed out that nest in English means "nido." "Of vultures, of course," she added.
From the official PP account on "X," a "formal" request has been made for a "serious and in-depth debate on housing policies with the PSOE spokesperson, Montse Mínguez." "Or with her husband, we don't care," they added in that same message.
Video in Ferraz and criticism of the "inconsistent left"
The PP has also shared a seven-second video on its social media profiles showing how a banner is unfurled on the facade of the national PSOE headquarters, on Ferraz street, while the sounds of vultures are heard and the message is played: "Do what I say. Not what I do. Hypocrites." The 'popular' accompany the recording with an ironic question: "Does the PSOE not talk about housing today?".
Sources from the PP cited by Europa Press have emphasized that "coherence in politics is important" and have reproached the PSOE for intending to give "lessons" on housing and "criminalize property owners." "It is an incoherent left, and that is what society does not forgive," they have pointed out.
Those same sources have questioned why the socialist spokesperson criticizes vulture funds in light of the business situation of her partner. "What difference is there between Urbagestión and the company of Montse Mínguez's husband? What audacity to criticize evictions with a husband who evicts," they have indicated, referring to the company that executed the eviction of the octogenarian Maricarmen Abascal from her home in the Retiro neighborhood. After social pressure, Urbagestión and the representatives of Maricarmen reached an agreement for her to be able to return to her home, although the elderly woman passed away a week ago.
