The general director of Agricultural and Livestock Production, M.ª Àngels Ramón-Llín, has emphasized the quality, tradition, and connection to the territory of the Valencian tomato at the opening of the first edition of the "Valencian Tomato Awards." This is an initiative promoted by the Association of Producers and Marketers of the Valencian Tomato that seeks to recognize the work of professionals in the sector, according to what the Generalitat has indicated in a statement.

Ramón-Llín has pointed out that "the Valencian tomato is much more than a product of the garden: it is tradition, it is territory, it is culture, and it is the result of the work of many people who, generation after generation, have managed to keep alive an essential trade for our agriculture."

The regional official has conveyed her congratulations to the promoting entity for the launch of these awards, "which contribute to giving visibility to the sector and recognizing the effort of those who work to maintain the quality and prestige of this product, closely linked to Valencian gastronomic culture."

In the same way, she has highlighted the CV Brand "as a distinctive that helps to identify the agri-food products of our Community and to reinforce consumer confidence." In this line, she added that "recognizing the quality of our products is also recognizing the work of our farmers."

Ramón-Llín has emphasized the convenience of bringing Valencian products closer to the final consumer and strengthening their sales channels, "while preserving traditional knowledge and generating new opportunities for agricultural operations."

The general director has also advocated for "an agriculture capable of combining tradition and innovation, quality and adaptation to new challenges," and has encouraged "continuing to promote the consumption of local products as a way to contribute to the maintenance of agricultural activity and the vitality of the municipalities."

To conclude, she has urged the Association of Producers and Marketers of the Valencian Tomato "to consolidate these awards as a meeting point for the sector and a platform to showcase the quality and potential of the Valencian tomato."
