The Consellería do Mar has included in the 2027 budget an allocation of 18.1 million euros aimed at continuing to advance in works and improvements in the ports owned by the autonomous community. These investments are part of a global package of 133.5 million, distributed in multi-year allocations for the next three fiscal years, with planned interventions in the three coastal provinces.
Within the 18.1 million set for the next fiscal year, 4 million will be directed to 11 actions in the ports of A Mariña lucense, with a total multi-year budget of 17.4 million. Among them is the improvement of the shelter of the Morás breakwater, in Xove, where the councilor, Marta Villaverde, traveled this Saturday.
The projected intervention in Morás has a budget of 4.6 million euros. Although it is still in the administrative processing phase, Villaverde is confident that it can go out to tender before the end of the year. The project includes the construction of a 224-meter shelter breakwater in front of the fishing port, with the aim of closing the dock.
"We hope it will strengthen the shelter conditions of the port, improving the safety of the moored fishing fleet and the recreational nautical vessels anchored. In addition, it will allow for an increase in the sheltered water surface and enable the future expansion of port facilities," she explained.
Alongside this work, the Consellería has reserved more than two million euros for four actions in Viveiro, including the demolition of several dilapidated buildings at the Celeiro dock and sanitation and reinforcement work on the shelter in this same area, as well as 121,000 euros to build a warehouse for boxes in Burela.
In Ribadeo, work will continue on the access to the port via Buenos Aires street, and a budget of 332,000 euros has been allocated, in a single annual allocation, for the dredging of the port. In Foz, the dredging of the access channel is also planned, and the remodeling of the dock is maintained, while in San Cibrao, work will be done on the renewal of the pavements of the access road to the port.
In addition to the 4 million reserved for the province of Lugo, in A Coruña a total of 1.9 million euros will be allocated in 2027 to multi-year investments whose total volume exceeds 47 million. In the case of Pontevedra, the forecast includes an allocation of 6.4 million for port actions that total an amount of 50 million.
