Teresa Jordà will be the head of the list of ERC for Girona to the Congress of Deputies on November 29 after winning the internal primaries to lead the candidacy, in which she achieved 59.8% of the votes cast.

The other candidate in this process in the Girona constituency, Etna Estrems, has garnered 37.3% of the support, as sources from ERC explained to Europa Press this Saturday.

The deputy spokesperson of ERC in the Congress in the past legislature has expressed her gratitude for the trust of the membership and has highlighted the "strong bond" she maintains with the regions of Girona, as the party emphasized in a statement.

"Positions come and go, but convictions, roots, and the people you love remain," she noted, emphasizing that she faces this new stage with energy and enthusiasm.

Defense of a voice of its own in Madrid

Likewise, she has defended that the regions of Girona continue to have "a voice of their own and with the capacity to influence in Madrid."

Jordà has a degree in Modern and Contemporary History, was mayor of Ripoll (Girona) from 2003 to 2011, and was part of the Govern de la Generalitat from 2018 to 2023, first as the consellera of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing, and Food and, later, as the consellera of Climate Action, Food, and Rural Agenda.
