The Xunta de Galicia plans to mobilize a total of 44 million euros in 2027 in a new line of aid aimed at promoting generational change and the modernization of agricultural and livestock farms. These subsidies will be processed as advance expenditure.
The announcement was made this Saturday by the Minister of Rural Affairs, María José Gómez, during a visit to the Casa Xacobe livestock farm, in San Xoán do Campo (Lugo), a farm that has already benefited from public support for improvement plans and for the purchase of machinery with advanced technology and energy efficiency criteria.
At this event, the head of Rural Affairs emphasized that the regional government will maintain its commitment to generational change, promoting the incorporation of young people into already established farms or launching new projects in the rural environment.
With this objective, the Galician government will launch a new call for aid in the year 2027 endowed with 44 million euros, which will be published under the advance expenditure regime.
The call also aims to promote the modernization of farms, facilitating the purchase of state-of-the-art machinery and other necessary investments. As highlighted by the minister, this line will allow for the continued updating of farms like Casa Xacobe.
Gómez emphasized that for the Xunta it is "very important" to continue fighting for a "strong" Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which guarantees the income of farmers and ranchers and, at the same time, allows for continued investment in the modernization of the sector.
Finally, the minister encouraged young people who are considering joining agricultural activity to "prepare their files and planning" to "have them ready" at the moment the new call for aid is published.
