The Swiss food company Nestlé announced this Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to divest its vitamins, minerals, and supplements (VMS) division, which will be handed over to Yellow Wood Partners for 1 billion dollars (862.6 million euros).
According to the press release issued by the company, the operation includes the brands "Nature's Bounty," "Osteo Bi-Flex," "Ester-C," "Gard," "Nuun," "Puritan's Pride," and "Sisu," as well as the assets linked to private label supplements in the United States and certain manufacturing, packaging, storage, and distribution activities.
The multinational has also detailed that the transaction is conditioned on obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals and expects to complete the process during the first half of 2027.
"This is another important step in the strategic transformation of our portfolio. We are focusing our resources on those areas where we have a greater competitive advantage," said Nestlé's CEO, Philipp Navratil.
"Thanks to Nestlé's strong innovation and brand development capabilities, we are well positioned to grow in the 'premium' segment of VMS, based on science, where brands like 'Solgar' and 'Pure Encapsulations' continue to register solid performance," he added. Navratil also indicated that the rest of the VMS business requires a "different approach" and "specialized direction."
