The Kings Felipe VI and Letizia have visited Ceuta this Tuesday for the first time since the proclamation of the monarch in 2014. During their visit to the City Hall, they were received by the president of the autonomous city, Juan Jesús Vivas, on a day aimed at showing the support of the Crown to the people of Ceuta after the migration crisis of last summer.
The visit occurs two and a half months after the entry of more than 80,000 people from Morocco, when the city has still not fully recovered normalcy.
The trip also has a historical character. The last visit of Spanish kings to Ceuta took place in November 2007, when Juan Carlos I and Sofía visited the autonomous city.
