The Federal Committee of the PSOE, meeting this Saturday in Fuenlabrada (Madrid), has unanimously supported the secretary general, Pedro Sánchez, as a candidate for the Presidency of the Government in the general elections scheduled for November 29.
In the same session, the members of the Federal Committee, the highest body of the party between Congresses, have given their final approval to the lists for Congress and the Senate that the Federal Commission of lists had approved the day before.
"On November 29, there is only one goal: victory. We are going out to win, and to govern," they state from Ferraz, assuring that they are "prepared" and have the best project, team, and "the best leadership" with Pedro Sánchez at the helm.
From the socialist leadership, they emphasize that, for the first time, there will be more women than men heading the candidacies for Congress, reaching 52% and fulfilling the mandate of the 41st Congress of the PSOE.
Regarding the Senate, they highlight that the percentage of women leading the lists has increased by 10 points compared to 2023. In total, the PSOE presents 444 women and 443 men to the Cortes Generales, in line with the requirements of current legislation on Equality.
