Granada lives the silence of Sánchez, Feijóo, and Abascal after a morning marked by the earthquakes

None of the three main national leaders had publicly spoken by the close of this Tuesday about a day with three minor injuries, damages, and evacuations, while Moreno, Montero, Sanz, and Carazo did react to the situation.

Granada has faced this Tuesday a new day of earthquakes with three minor injuries, material damage, evacuations, closed streets, and hundreds of alerts to emergency services. A situation to which the Andalusian and local institutions have been reacting throughout the day, but that by the end of the day had not provoked a public response from the three main national political leaders: Pedro Sánchez, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and Santiago Abascal.

Until the night of this Tuesday, there was no specific public statement or message from any of the three regarding the new earthquakes recorded in Granada.

An absence that contrasts with the interventions of political officials who have indeed followed the emergency from their respective areas.

Moreno, Sanz, and Carazo, at the forefront of the Andalusian response

The institutional response has been concentrated fundamentally in Andalusia, where the command of the emergency is currently located.

The president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, called for "maximum caution" in light of the possibility that seismic movements and aftershocks could continue and urged citizens to follow the recommendations of the emergency services.

The first vice president and counselor of the Presidency, Health, and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, participated directly in monitoring the situation, reported on the balance of injuries, and reminded the population of the guidelines to follow in the event of new tremors.

The Junta has kept active the Emergency Plan of Andalusia against Seismic Risk in emergency phase, operational situation 1, which leaves the autonomous direction of the response in their hands.

In the municipal sphere, the mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, elevated the municipal plan to emergency phase 1, reinforced the presence of the Local Police, and maintained throughout the day the monitoring of damages and inspections.

Granada reached the night with seven closed streets, while checks on buildings and homes continued.

Montero does speak out from the PSOE

There was also a reaction from the Government and the PSOE, although it did not come from the president.

The first vice president and general secretary of the Andalusian socialists, María Jesús Montero, conveyed her solidarity to the affected people, appealed for "calm," and asked citizens to remain attentive to the indications of the security forces and emergency services.

His intervention prevents talking about a complete silence of the Government of Spain regarding what happened in Granada.

However, Sánchez had not made a specific public statement about the earthquakes by the close of this Tuesday, despite the succession of earthquakes and the consequences they have left in the province.

Neither Feijóo nor Abascal

The absence of a public reaction is not limited to the president of the Government.

There was also no specific intervention from the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, regarding the earthquakes of this Tuesday, despite the fact that the regional management of the emergency corresponds to a Government of his party and Juanma Moreno did speak out during the day.

The same situation occurred with Santiago Abascal. The president of Vox had also not publicly dedicated a specific message to the earthquakes in Granada in the searches conducted up to the close of this information.

The contrast thus leaves a singular image of the political day: while the municipal and regional officials and the first vice president reacted to an emergency that remained active, the national leaders of PSOE, PP, and Vox remained publicly aloof from it.
