The Council of Ministers has agreed to review the limits for assuming spending commitments charged to future fiscal years, in order for the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to cover until 2030 the obligations arising from the new agreements between the General State Administration and Adif, as well as with Adif-High Speed.
As planned, the contributions from the General State Administration to Adif in the period 2027-2030 will amount to 2,386,970,960 euros in 2027, 2,339,486,930 euros in 2028, 2,292,464,920 euros in 2029, and 2,184,887,240 euros in 2030.
In parallel, the disbursements from the General State Administration destined for Adif-High Speed between 2027 and 2030 will be 1,894,006,000 euros in 2027, 1,792,000,000 euros in 2028, 1,375,432,000 euros in 2029, and 1,351,000,000 euros in 2030.
With the aim of providing Adif and Adif-High Speed with a stable financial framework between 2026 and 2030, the Agreement between the General State Administration and Adif for the economic sustainability of the railway infrastructures that are part of its network during the period 2026-2030 is being processed, as well as the Agreement between the General State Administration and Adif-High Speed for the economic sustainability of the railway infrastructures that integrate its network during the same period. These agreements will replace the current ones for 2021-2025.
Once the new agreements come into force, the previous ones will be extinguished, and the addenda that extended them during 2026 will have no effect. Thus, the final settlement of the previous agreements is limited to the period 2021-2025, expressly leaving out the fiscal year 2026.
